This is Thelma.

Born on an Iowa farm in 1904. Famous for her snickerdoodles. Lived to 108 — we’re not saying it was the cookies, but we’re not not saying it.

In 2012, her great-grandson Dereck and his mom started sandwiching ice cream between Thelma’s snickerdoodles and selling them from a pushcart at the Des Moines Farmers Market. People lost their minds (politely — this is Iowa). That’s how the Original Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwich™ was born.
